The important fuel of the engine is gasoline. The quality of gasoline has a direct impact on the power of the engine. There will always be impurities in the gasoline added at the gas station, so a fuel filter is needed to filter these impurities so that our engine can receive clean gasoline to run stably. The gasoline filter is connected in series in the fuel supply pipeline to fully filter the gasoline.

There are two types of gasoline filters. One is an external fuel filter, which is usually installed at the bottom of the car for later replacement; the other is a built-in fuel filter installed in the gasoline tank with the gasoline pump. There will also be a layer of filter before the gasoline pump to assist in filtering larger particles. The built-in gasoline filter has a long service life but is not easy to replace.

Gasoline Filter

The principle of the fuel filter is that when gasoline flows through the filter sedimentation cup, the impurities in the gasoline are separated from the water under the action of pressure. The gasoline then passes through the filter material of the filter element to filter out the tiny impurities and water in the gasoline oil, and the gasoline reaches a clean level that can be used by the engine.

How to extend the service life of the fuel filter? You can use high-quality gasoline. Gasoline with fewer impurities can reduce the wear of the filter and increase the mileage. At the same time, please note that the gasoline filter has a fixed direction when installed. If it is installed in reverse, the engine will not start. Using a reliable fuel filter is one of the prerequisites for us to ensure driving performance. Understanding the importance of the filter will help us better maintain our car.
